ABOUT FAMILY ADVOCATES

It all began when I had a dream of creating my own family. I faced many unexpected roadblocks and barriers. Whether it was my body, lack of access to care, or navigating tricky laws and policies, I felt alone in the process. This turned around when I found medical, legal, and counseling support. It changed my life and enabled me to have three beautiful children and to have my relationship and parentage fully recognized. At that point, I decided to transition my legal practice to more intentionally help others with forming their families and obtaining legal protection and recognition. There is nothing more sacred than your family and loved ones!

While I had practiced in the areas of sexual and reproductive rights and justice for the past two decades at the national and international levels, it was time for me to turn my energies closer to home, to help individuals and couples who face similar fertility and legal challenges.
